If all you want to do is lie back and soak in the sun, sand and sea, prepare to be bowled over by Pattaya's pristine beaches. Get over to Amphoe Bang Lamung, located along the pearly shores of Pattaya Beach. Its northern end is favoured for swimming, water sports and sunbathing, while the central and southern bits are brimming with hotels, restaurants, nightspots and department stores. Windsurfers, on the other hand, can be spotted along Hat Jomtien, while Hat Wong Phrachan, located on the northern side of Pattaya Bay, is ideal for R&R.
Experience the adrenaline rush at Pattaya Park, whose range of thrilling rides include the Tower Shot, where you are literally catapulted up towards the skies before plunging downwards at lightning-fast speeds. Otherwise, pop over to the water park, and make a splash at giant water slides and whirlpools by the beach.
For you prefer activities with a more leisurely pace, check out the panoramic view of the city at the Observation Deck, located on the 55th floor of the Pattaya Park Tower and which stands at 240 metres high. If you plan to stay longer, make dinner reservations at the revolving restaurant (it occupies the 52nd to 54th floors of the building). Can't get enough? Spend the night at its Beach Resort, which overlooks Jometien Beach and Pattaya Bay.
Pattaya Park Water Park opens daily from 9am to 6pm. Pattaya Park Funny Land opens daily from 1 lam to 10pm. Admission: THB100 (adult); THB50 (child below 120cm at Water Park); THB200 (per game at Funny Land).

Lights, Camera, Action!
At Pattaya, entertainment is a colourful affair, complete with a pageantry of lights, sound, vibrant costumes and dazzling choreography. And no performance electrifies the senses more than the transvestite cabaret shows here.
Tiffany's Show, Southeast Asia's biggest of its kind, has entertained visitors from the world over for the past 35 years. Younger in history but arguably as famous is the Alcazar Show, whose performances are hailed alongside that of Moulin Rouge in Paris, France.
Closed to vehicles from 7pm till midnight, Walking Street is crammed with seafood restaurants, go-go bars, roadside stalls, live music pubs and a myriad of shops and stores.
Even if you're not the nocturnal type, this area is worth staying awake for as it makes for excellent people-watching.
If bigger is better, Pattaya has just the answer for those who love to shop. Central Festival is Pattaya's largest shopping complex, and houses an extensive ;election of retail, recreation and dining options.
Among them include mega-super market Big C, so bring your shopping bags along.
